Saturday Wellness

|

At the 14Y, we are committed to the development of the whole person, bettering people’s lives, and strengthening individual and family connections by building an inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable community.

While our fitness classes, aquatics programs, and fitness center are here for your body, since the pandemic we have realized – as many of you may have, too – that we wanted to pay as much attention to our hearts and minds as we do our bodies.

New Wellness Series

We’re excited to introduce a new wellness series that seeks to expand our health and fitness offerings to include the mind and even the soul. On these special Saturdays, hand-picked wellness specialists will offer concrete tools to help us maximize our energy so that we can be fully available to ourselves, our loved ones and our communities.

You’re invited to claim (at least some of!) your Saturday for you. In our first Body, Mind, and Soul Saturday Series, led by Meditation and Holistic Coach Jennifer Herrera, we invite you to take inventory of the different dimensions of wellness in your life, reflect on how well you are aligned with your goals, and to become aware of any patterns that may present as obstacles.

Using sound, meditation, movement, and journaling, we will explore our relationship to ourselves, to play, and to our bodies. We will embody practices that rejuvenate us and provide fuel for us to live more fully.

Looking ahead, other Wellness Saturday Series will include Reiki, Ayurveda, nutrition classes and more. Every series will offer a takeaway, such as a consultation or skill, that you will be able to apply to your life in everyday ways.

Everyone is Welcome

Sometimes, workshops like these feel inaccessible, either by vocabulary or cost, but we plan to make these soulful practices more accessible to our community.

For example, in our first wellness series, participants receive six semiprivate coaching sessions PLUS an individualized consultation with Jennifer for the price of one individual coaching session. Additionally, we have two scholarships available for participants meeting eligibility criteria.

We hope you will join us as we expand our wellness offerings to better serve your whole being. For questions about the scholarship or any additional questions, please reach out to me, Julie Gayer Kris, Senior Director of Community Wellness, at JGayerKris@14streety.org.

I hope to see you there!
