The 14th Street Y is part of Educational Alliance, a downtown Manhattan non-profit that serves 50,000 New Yorkers annually. It provides a wide range of services for people of all ages, including preschools, camps, after school programs, senior centers, health & wellness programs, arts & culture classes, counseling services, and addiction recovery programs.
In fall 2013, Educational Alliance opened a new state-of-the-art community center on the Lower East Side, the Manny Cantor Center.
The Educational Alliance’s President and CEO is Alan van Capelle. The chairman of their Board of Trustees is Erica Tishman. Educational Alliance is a Jewish agency that serves people from every ethnic, religious and socio-economic background.
