It’s all here. Our carefully curated fitness class list features a deep inventory of all the popular categories, tailored for gym-goers of every age and fitness level, as well as a host of special offerings.

We have a wider range of fitness classes—from favorites like Yoga, Zumba, and Pilates to challenging cardio sculpt and aerobics with strength training!

We now have a full roster of live-streaming and in-person group fitness classes to keep our community active whether from home or at the 14Y.

Please note: Most in-person group fitness classes are walk-in only. Only Get Fit with Ivy and Aerobics with Strength Training with Ivy require advance registration to save your spot due to class popularity.

Monday Classes

Strength & Conditioning with Caroline (Intermediate)
Mondays | 9:30 – 10:20 AM
Fitness Studio
Start your morning off with a high intensity class that targets all the major muscle groups with a combination of bodyweight exercises, weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and a core- strengthening mat workout. This class is for intermediate to advanced exercisers, comfortable with jumping, squatting and lifting 5-10 lb dumbbells.

Power Hour Body Challenge with Tim (High Intensity)

In this intense, high-energy class, you will challenge your muscle strength, cardiovascular endurance, improve your flexibility and coordination using weights and other equipment to get everything pumping and torch some serious calories while having a great time!

 

Classical Yoga with Amrita (Intermediate)

Fitness Studio 
An integrative approach to yoga, physical postures that strengthen and tone the body, breathing practices that support vitality and peace of mind. The class ends with a brief meditation practice. An open level class, all are welcome!

Hatha Yoga with Rie (Intermediate)

This class guides you through movement that develops strength, flexibility and the connection between body, mind and breath. Deepen your understanding of the posture & basic alignment in the body.

Pilates Plus with Elizabeth (Intermediate) (Hybrid class)

Fitness Studio 
This class combines traditional Pilates exercises plus other strength and toning modalities. It involves the integration of strength, stabilization and alignment. The skills you develop in this class will help with proper, protective body mechanics in everyday activities.

Strength Class with Elizabeth (Intermediate)

Fitness Studio 
This is a full body workout. It combines upper body strengthening exercises with lower body and core strengthening exercises. This class provides strength, balance, flexibility and coordination training all in one, an advanced workout with the option to modify.

Cardio Blast with Tara (High Intensity)

Move to the music (or the beat of your own drum) while having fun and getting a great cardiovascular workout! Modifications and progressions will be demonstrated, so come and take this class at your own pace.

Pilates Fusion with Jennifer (Intermediate)

A little barre, a little yoga and a lot of Pilates! Plankwork, arm weights and standing work for the lower body, transition to the mat for core targeting the many abdominal muscles as well as thighs, glutes and back.

A complete body workout. Stretch and strengthen body, get an aerobic workout, learn proper use of muscles and joints for a healthier and more flexible body.

 

Juggling with Alice (Gentle)

Want to learn how to juggle? Already know how but want to work on your skills with others? Join us on Wednesdays, we have the balls, rings, clubs & scarves as well as plates for spinning and ribbon for twirling.

Latin rhythms, easy to follow moves, as well as resistance training, to have fun, tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

HIIT Strength with Tim (High Intensity)

Fitness Studio
A high intensity cardio HIIT workout along with strength training exercises. There will be some modifications offered, but expect to jump, squat, and get down on a mat for a portion of the class.

 

Adult Ballet with Asia / Shoshana (Gentle) 
Thursdays | 7:30 – 8:30 PM
Fitness Studio 
This ballet class for adults is a welcoming and inclusive place to learn as a beginner, brush up on your skills, or add as an adjunct to your current workout routine. Students will work on technique, work at the barre for balance and development of strength, discipline, and flexibility, and move across the floor in choreographed sequences. No experience necessary.

Yoga Basics with Susan (Gentle)

This class focuses on postures and breath practices including gentle flow with breath. Suitable for all levels and all bodies! 

 

Your Body, Take Charge! with Sheila (Gentle)

Move your body! Strengthen, stretch, and sustain your body with exercises all derived from dance. You will sit, stand, and cover space.

 

Saturday Classes

NEW! 14Y Zero to 5K Running Program
Saturdays, April 7 – June 9 | East River Park Track at 6th St and FDR Drive
Registration opens Wednesday, February 27 at 9:00 AM
Register

Designed for beginning runners, the 14Y Zero to 5K Running Program is led by USA Track & Field coach Tim Haft. Spanning 10 weeks, class culminates with the Brooklyn Cyclones Coney Island Classic 5K on Sunday, June 9. All sessions will begin with a brief clinic on a running related topic. Tim will then lead a warm-up, group run, and cooldown. Runners receive a weekly training schedule and email access to their coach. In the event of inclement weather, sessions will take place at the 14Y. Race registration includes post-race refreshments, a t-shirt, and a Cyclones ticket for a future date.

*Race registration fee not included with class registration.

Stretch, Flow & Restore with Susan (Intermediate)
Saturdays | 9:45 – 10:45 AM
Fitness Studio
Begin the practice with yoga poses seated or reclined to release tension and stiffness. Followed by a flow that connects breath with movement focusing on alignment and core strength. Ends with a guided relaxation meditation.

Moving Meditation with Jennifer (Gentle)
Saturdays | 11:00 – 11:50 AM
Fitness Studio
Clear your mind and restore through breathwork, focused movement and gentle stretches. Based on elements from Kundalini Yoga, Tai Chi, Martial arts and Transcendental Meditation, this class will leave you energized and refreshed.

Zumba with Sophia (Intermediate)

International rhythms and easy to follow moves are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat and having fun.

Zumba combines Latin and international music with dance moves, that incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

Pilates with Chintamani (Intermediate)
Mondays | 9:00 – 9:50 AM 
This mat class focuses on activating core strength, the elongation of postural muscles and the awareness of breath to combat the stiffness and stress that often comes with our daily activities. Open to all levels, this class will have participants feeling invigorated with a sense of strength and peace in both body and mind. Class uses elastic exercise bands. Safe for people with Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Participants must be able to get up and down from the floor.

 

Alignment Yoga with Chintamani (Intermediate)
Mondays | 10:00 – 11:00 AM 
A classic yoga class focusing on alignment, strength, and balance. Detailed instructions help prevent injuries and support mindfulness.

 

Midday Exercise with Marissa (Gentle)
Mondays | 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM
Get your body moving, your blood pumping, and your mind in a good mood! Enjoy an upbeat workout with intervals of low impact exercises, functional movements, strength training, total body conditioning, and stretching. We will all have fun, while increasing our physical fitness.

Tai Chi with Roberto (Gentle)

Tai chi is an art that promotes balance, strength, grace, and flexibility, and it promotes a meditative mood with its “dance of quiet motion.”

 

Low Impact Cardio & Conditioning with Shana (Gentle)

Cardio based class with low impact movements set to rhythmic music.

Zumba Gold with Sophia (Intermediate)
Wednesdays | 12:15 – 1:00 PM | Canceled until further notice
Zumba Gold is designed for the older active adult. It is a lower intensity version of the popular Zumba Dance Fitness program that uses easy to follow choreography based mostly on Latin Rhythms. The focus of the classwork is on cardiovascular conditioning, with special attention to coordination, balanced and flexibility. Come prepared to sweat, and leave feeling rejuvenated and empowered.

Thursday Classes

Silver Sneakers with Core and More with Elizabeth (Gentle/Intermediate)
Thursdays | 12:00 – 12:45 PM
This class provides a full body workout alternating between fun cardio and muscle strengthening segments. We also work on balance and challenge the brain with fun drills. The entire workout can be done with or without equipment. If you have a resistance band, weights (soup cans will do!), a small ball and a stable chair, please feel free to have those items nearby. Most importantly, bring yourself and plan on having a good time with your fitness friends.

Gentle yoga class designed to condition your body, improve your health, and calm your mind. Detailed instructions help prevent injuries and create a welcoming atmosphere for beginners and more studied practitioners alike.

Develop balance, body and breath control, strength, and posture in this harmonious class.

Saturday Classes

Pilates with Allyson (Intermediate)
Saturdays | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Mat pilates that is gentle and effective You will need a resistance band and a thick mat. Strengthen and tone, stretch and limber up, align your spine, activate your core. Additional prop (if needed) is a cushion or pillow. Modifications to movements provided, as well as ways to progress movements for a bit more of a challenge.

Sunday Classes

Vinyasa Yoga with Natalia (High Intensity)

Sundays | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Athletic style of flow yoga offers variety of sequencing, providing variations in each pose for all levels. This practice increases athleticism by combining hard work and deep relaxation.
