The 14th Street Y is a vital neighborhood center, conveniently located near public transportation, with a distinctive downtown point of view, emphasizing excellence, innovation, and creativity.
Ideal for a variety of events, performances, birthday parties, rehearsals, and meetings, the 14Y’s community spirit, practical rates, and exciting atmosphere is guaranteed to make your event memorable. We also have a fully operational Theater with flexible seating up to 120 that is available for rent off season.

Rental Options
Our dynamic black box theater is available for day and week-long rentals this spring.
The 14Y Theater is the perfect space for artists and content creators seeking a private space to rehearse, photograph or film.
You will receive the blank canvas of our Black Box Theater with approximately 40’ by 50’ of open floor space and over 20’ ceilings. The back wall is masked with black velour, which may be opened to reveal a white bounce cyclorama. The repertory light plot includes RGBA LEDs for the cyclorama and halogen general washes. Basic audio playback is also included. A projection package is available for an additional charge.
All rental proposals will be evaluated and approved at the discretion of 14Y management.

Special Event Rentals are for events open to the general public that isn’t a birthday party.
For a special event that requires a larger space, such as the 14Y Gymnasium, please fill out the rental form with details on your request and needs.
A 14Y staff member will respond to you shortly with availability and pricing.

The 14Y has many rooms available for private rehearsals and movement workshops.

No food or drinks (aside from water) are allowed in our rooms.
