Our childcare professionals read stories, play and even rock little ones to sleep while you work out, swim or attend a program in the building. Services are available for children 6 months old to 6 years old. Childcare service is available for children of members and parents must remain on the premises of the 14th Street Y while using childcare services.

Jenefer serves as the Associate Childcare Director and has been one of our trusted childcare providers since the program began in 2005. Jenefer is from the Philippines, works as a childcare provider for many families in the New York area and is a proud single mother to her son. She’s very hard working, friendly, outgoing, loving, kind and easy to get along with, and she loves working with the kids.
Vanessa spent many years as a preschool teacher in NYC and Chicago and a stint in the food & beverage industry. She joined the childcare team at the 14th Street Y where she enjoys interacting with the children without the formality of a classroom. Vanessa is very nurturing, compassionate and intuitive with the children.
Alba is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Psychology. In addition to being a stay at home mother of a wonderful 3 year old, Alba spends a lot of time volunteering with two organizations: one is a program that provides horse lessons to kids with special needs, the other is an organization that helps shelter animals in NYC. In addition to providing child care for families, she recently competed in her third triathalon!
Linda has an 11- year old son and loves doing crafts and art or playing ball or board games with the children in Childcare. Linda has been a substitute teacher’s assistant in the Y’s Preschool and the Summer Camp. She also supervises the Indoor Playground. Linda attended New York University and has many years of office experience as an Executive Assistant.
Porferia loves caring for children and has experience both as a new grandmother and as a nanny for twins. She is a retired nurse from the Philippines who has experience working with young children. She is nurturing, patient, and always positive and prides herself for providing a fun, safe, and caring environment for all the children under her care.
