Opportunities at NCDC

New Country Day Camp: Leaders in Training Program

New Country Day Camp offers a Leaders in Training program for campers entering 7th and 8th grade at our beautiful campgrounds on the Staten Island Green Belt. In addition to enjoying the best of what NCDC has to offer- swim twice a day (instructional and recreational), and elective programming for high-interest curricular units, LITs also enjoy leadership training through social service projects and big sibling time with our youngest campers, as well as multiple off-site day trips and overnights. LITs can choose to register for one of two 4-week sessions, or the full summer.

Counselor in Training at New Country Day Camp

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) positions are available to 14 or 15 years old who want to work at New Country Day Camp, the largest summer program the Y offers. This is a paid position, and for many CIT’s, a first! Throughout the summer, you will gain valuable work experience, be a role model to younger campers, and be able to spend your summer outside in nature. We provide professional development and support to CIT’s to give you a strong foundation for workplace norms and behavior. We are looking for CIT’s who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, creative, and responsible role models.
