Help Send Shawneeka to Study Reggio Emilia Education

Help us Raise Funds for Shawneeka to Deepen Her Understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach

You may know that our beloved teacher, Shawneeka was just selected to attend the Reggio seminar in the province of Reggio Italy.  This seminar is a 10 day study tour, beginning May 10 running through May 19. The seminar will deepen the work we do in our classrooms with our children and greater 14Y community.  We will be a part of the PJ Library cohort and will experience two Shabbats together in Italy.

We need to raise $5,000 by Wednesday May 9 to help support her trip!  Help us reach our goal by donating today online.

Friday, May 3 we will have a bake sale in our Lobby. Funds raised at the bake sale will also go to support this effort.

More About Reggio Emilia at the 14th Street Y

The ‘Reggio Emilia’ approach to education originated in Northern Italy right after the end of World War II.

As you know, the 14th Street Y Preschool is a Reggio inspired school. Every year we strive to grow in our exploration of what it means to be Reggio inspired and how to implement core Reggio values into our curriculum. We are grateful for this opportunity and know that going to the epicenter of our educational inspiration, as Preschool Director and Lead Teacher, will only strengthen the work we are doing and our community.
