Pickup basketball games happen every day at 14Y.

Swing by your East Village community center for a drop-in dribble-and-shoot or an impromptu game on our indoor court!

Member Basketball

Organized and supervised full court game play for 14Y members and their guests ages 18 and older (17-year-olds may participate at the basketball monitor’s discretion). If more than 20 players are present: 2 games, then rotate in 10 new players. If 20 players or fewer are present: 3 games, then rotate in 10 new players.

Open Gym

Scheduled Open Gym is available to all 14Y members. Basketball gameplay during Open Gym is limited to half-court only. The other half of the court may be used for recreational activities, provided gymnasium guidelines are followed. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. 14Y may suspend or cancel membership for harmful or inappropriate behavior, or failure to follow the guidelines listed. 

VOLO Basketball at the 14Y

Play basketball with the VOLO League at the 14Y! Members can sign up individually or pay a team fee for teams of up to ten people. Gameplay is intermediate. Players must be age 21 or over to play. The fees cover team jerseys and referees. Visit the VOLO website for pricing and registration.

Gymnasium Guidelines

• No food. No glass, use plastic or metal containers.
• No street shoes. Scuff-resistant athletic shoes are required at all times.   
• Must wear proper gym attire.  
• Children under the age of 13 can only access 14Y and use the gymnasium during open gym time when accompanied by an adult.   
• No private coaching, training, or instruction allowed on 14Y premises.  Do not leave your belongings unattended. 14Y is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Day use lockers are available in the locker rooms, and locks are sold at the service desk.
• Do not bring equipment from the fitness center to the gymnasium.
• Profanity or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
