About Landscapes

August 7 – September 27

The 14Y Gallery presents Landscapes, a two person exhibition of Noa Charuvi and Shmuel Charuvi, curated by Chanan Ben-Simon. Noa Charuvi, a New York-based painter who grew up in Jerusalem, set out to retrace the landscapes her late grandfather painted after immigrating from Ukraine in the early twentieth century. The project evolved as part of Charuvi’s research into her family’s legacy. The paintings explore the distinctions between the landscapes of her grandfather’s time and her own, showing where layers of history, both recent and ancient, have left their mark.

This exhibition is an opportunity to reveal the work of Noa and Shmuel Charuvi side by side for the first time, and engage with the different points of view they offer through their descriptions of landscape as it is: beautiful, mysterious, tragic, spiritual, and rich with human traces from various periods, nationalities and religions.

Join us on Tuesday, September 8 to celebrate Noa Charuvi’s solo exhibition, Landscapes. Register Here.
