DESCRIPTION:Heads up\, new prospective families—this is your chance to see the beauty and wonder of New Country Day Camp!\nWelcome to New Country Day Camp! Located on the beautiful 75-acre Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds\, hiking trails\, swimming pools\, and open meadows set the scene for a summer of enrichment and adventure for campers entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. With over 20 innovative activities\, including daily instructional and free swim\, there’s something for everyone at NCDC. \nThis is a free family event! Please feel free to bring prospective campers and younger siblings. We are a fully outdoor campground\, and we have no paved roads. Please consider this when dressing/packing for the day and we recommend leaving strollers at home. Unfortunately\, we are not able to welcome pets. \nPlease note that registration will close on Wednesday\, October 18 at 5:00 PM. \nWhat will the day look like? DESCRIPTION:Pay attention to your attention in this experiential workshop led by facilitators from The Strother School of Radical Attention. \nThrough practices of sustained attention and guided discussions\, we will learn together how to build “sanctuaries of attention” in our lives and communities. \nAttention is central to our ability to care for each other\, to make sense of our shared reality\, and to collectively build the world that we hope to inhabit. To do so\, we must reclaim our attention from digital technologies of attention capture and learn how to direct it towards the people\, places and things that matter most. This is the aim of the Attention Labs: an experiential\, participatory workshop curriculum dedicated to the joint exploration of radical human attention. \nAbout The Strother School of Radical Attention\nThe Matthew Strother School of Radical Attention is a non-profit experimental institution of education and collaboration dedicated to cultivating radical attention as a foundation of human well-being — and well-being beyond the human\, too. Through creative projects\, courses on the history\, philosophy\, and politics of attention\, and experiential Attention Lab workshops\, we fashion and collectively implement tools to reclaim human attention\, and thereby protect and cultivate the many goods of shared life that it produces.
