SUMMARY:Blue Man to Bob Ross: 14Y Gallery Showing & Conversation with Artist Wes Day
DESCRIPTION:Blue Man to Bob Ross \n14Y Gallery Showing & Conversation with Artist Wes Day  \nThursday\, August 3 | 7:00 – 9:30 PM  \nReserve Your Tickets Here \nJoin Blue Man Wes Day as he shares some of his personal 25-year history with Blue Man Group and his long-standing love of Bob Ross.   \nThis gallery opening will feature a series of his art highlighting two distinctive styles\, as well as engaging conversation with Day as he illustrates how much these seemingly disparate organizations have in common\, including how both organizations have not only impacted his personal artistry\, but also inspired millions of people to embrace their own happy accidents and give themselves permission to try new creative forms of self-expression. Come learn how the ethos of Blue Man Group and the philosophies of Bob Ross intersect and inspire in surprisingly joyful ways. \nLight snacks and refreshments will be served. \nAbout Day’s Work \nDay uses a variety of acrylic pouring techniques including his own unique spin art wheel\, pendulum swings and various gravity art techniques to create satisfyingly expressive and colorful action art lightly reminiscent of his Blue Man experience. \nHe’s also certified in the Bob Ross Wet on Wet Technique and will be sharing a number of his landscape oil paintings juxtaposed to his other work on display. \nOn occasion\, he combines both his Bob Ross and Blue Man-inspired techniques to create something truly unique. \nClick here to see a video demonstrating some of these techniques. \nBlue Man Group began as a small Off-Broadway show featuring a never-before-seen combination of music\, color and non-verbal humor delivered via three bald and literally blue men. Against all odds\, the show expanded and grew to be an international juggernaut\, still playing theatres around the world for three decades and counting. Bob Ross began as a painting instructor in Alaska\, and with his PBS show\, The Joy of Painting\, reached millions of homes with his soothing voice and encouraging spirit. Bob Ross Inc continues to garner new fans of all ages to this day. \nAbout Wes Day \nWes Day is a multi-hyphenate artist on a mission to bring joy to the world through his music\, paintings and performance. As an actor and musician\, Wes has spent over 25 years performing as a Blue Man in the show Blue Man Group\, entertaining over a million audience members worldwide. He has performed at Carnegie Hall\, and on television shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon\, The Jimmy Kimmel Show\, Telemundo’s La Vos\, Deal or No Deal with Howie Mandel and many more. Wes is a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA and is currently a cast member of the Off-Broadway production of Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theater in NYC. \nWes is a Certified Bob Ross Landscape Instructor\, trained at The Bob Ross Experience at Minnetrista Museum and Gardens in Muncie\, Indiana. As a painter\, Wes applies his love of action art and Bob Ross to create joyful self-expression captured on canvas. His studio in Hoboken\, where he offers Bob Ross Landscape classes\, is a space for creative self-expression\, embracing the fun and the failures\, the mistakes and the masterpieces.  Wes was featured in the most recent episode of “Happy Little Podcast”\, the official Bob Ross podcast hosted by Ron Scalzo (airing in July 2023).
