What is CLASSP?
The Consortia for Learning and Service to Special Populations (CLASSP) was created in response to the growing interests of the special needs community. CLASSP has helped over 170 high school students transform the lives of hundreds of children with disabilities and receive valuable job experience.
CLASSP is a year-long internship from October through June designed to provide select high school students new skills and approaches of working with special needs children who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD.) Upon completion of the program, students receive 1 college credit and a stipend.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and a high school student.
Students are required to commit to 2 hours per week to work with children on Saturdays, participate in 1 training session and take part in 5 educational workshops throughout the academic year.
