Musical Theater Intensive
Musical Theater Intensive with Prospect Theater Company
July 5th - 15th, Monday-Friday, 2016 (No class on Monday, July 4th)
With professional artists from Off-Broadway's acclaimed Prospect Theater Company (www.ProspectTheater.org) and the teaching artists of the 14th Street Y, program participants will rehearse, workshop, and premiere a commissioned work of musical theater, written expressly for young performers by some of NYC’s most exciting emerging composers and lyricists. During this session, teens will build their technical skills as actors, singers, and dancers, all while learning the ins and outs of new musical theater development, and enjoying a creative process with their peers.
This program is recommended for teens (ages 12-17) with previous musical theater experience who are excited to learn in a fast-paced environment, take artistic risks, and collaborate in an ensemble.
