Counselor-in-Training at NCDC
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) positions are available to our youngest staff members who are 14 or 15 years old during camp dates. This is a paid position, and for many CIT’s, a first! We help our CIT staff members to become independent employees who communicate with camp administration without the assistance of parents or guardians. We also provide professional development and support to our CIT’s to give them a strong foundation for work-place norms and behavior. We are looking for CIT’s who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, creative, and responsible role models.
CIT’s are NOT directly responsible for the well-being of campers at New Country Day Camp. CIT’s instead assist the more seasoned and experienced staff in making sure that our days and programs run smoothly. Jobs for CIT’s include Pool Aide, Office Aide, Division Aide, and Utility (Maintenance) Aide. CIT’s are expected to work for the full camp season from June 29th to August 18th 2017 and in addition to monetary compensation will also receive professional development training and support from head staff during their time at camp so that when old enough (16) they will be prepared to apply for the role of a full-fledged counselor.

**Parents, please note that the CIT applicant must do the applying on his/her own with minimal assistance from you!** This is also a good time for the CIT applicant to create and start regularly checking a personal email account, as that is our main method for correspondence with applicants, and then staff members.
